National Green Corps is a major initiative of MOEF&CC, GOI for creating environmental awareness among school children launched in 2001-02. To implement this programme Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps was formed as Nodal Agency during 2002-03. APNGC aims at building cadres of young children working towards environmental conservation and sustainable development through formation of Eco-Clubs in schools. Through this Programme, school children are exposed to in-depth field experiences, and provides opportunities to convert their ideas into creative action.

Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps is mainly implementing Environmental Education, Awareness & Training (EEAT) scheme and Swachata Action Plan (SAP) schemes of MoEF&CC, GOI. 

  Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps organizes programs on all Environmentally important days involving Eco-Club students and local people all over the State to create awareness among school children & public

   · Giving Support to participate in the Green Schools Programme conducted by the Environment Education Unit of the Centre for Science and Environment

·  Providing assistance to APNGC for their NGC Students to participate in activities related to Biodiversity Conservation, Water Conservation, Energy Conservation, Waste Management and Land Use Planning and Resource Management in more efficient and effective manner.

·   Keeping up with the developments and advances in relevant fields and to accordingly disseminate information.

·    To support in various educational and training activities undertaken by APNGC.

·    Technical assistance for the programs undertaken by APNGC.
