Vijayawada town is the capital of Andhra Pradesh State. The present water supply is around 100 lpcd against the standard of 135 lpcd. The NRW is 30 to 40% of water supplied. The water supplied is intermittent. As a pilot project, it is suggested to upgrade existing intermittent water supply system to 24x7 water supply system and also to account for quality and quantity monitoring, the project is envisaged. In phase I, it is proposed to implement in In order to improve existing water supply system and to generate accountability for the water supplied, it is proposed to take up in 15 reservoir command areas covering 25% of the population
